John is a father of 3 beautiful daughters and is currently serving as a Royal Marine Commando at Lympstone in Devon.

He trialled at Bath University in September 2005 and gained a place in the Europa Cup team as a push athlete.  Due to an injury to the driver of that team John decided to take up driving and took part in a few novice driving schools.  In Jan 2006 GB Bobsleigh selected John to compete as a driver on the Europa Cup.

After a successful first season John made his World Cup debut as a driver in Feb 2007, after just finishing 9th in the World Championships as a 4-man crewman.

In 2008 John took his first British title to become British Champion in Igls, Austria.

"My goal is to represent Great Britain in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Looking into the future I'm hoping to be a possible medal contender for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia."

"Some wish it would happen, some want it to happen, others make it happen"
